PHYSICS F5 | ELECTROMAGNETISM I MAGNETIC EFFECT IN A CURRENT CARRYING CONDUCTOR
Knowledge you should achieved after following this lesson;
1. A current-carrying conductor produces a magnetic field around it
2. A current-carrying solenoid is called an electromagnet and it produces a magnetic field similar to that of a bar magnet
3. The strength of magnetic field in electromagnets increases with an increase in the magnitude of the current and the number of turns of the coil. It is also depends on the nature of the core material
4. Electromagnets are used in many applications such as magnetic relays, circuit breakers, telephone earpiece and scrapyard cranes
