Otak-otak is very popular in South East Asia, especially Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia. In Malaysia, otak-otak is famous especially in Terengganu and Johor and usually eaten as a snack.
Otak-otak is normally made of marine fish, flavored with aromatic herbs and spices and rich coconut milk. The otak-otak is wrapped in coconut leaves or banana leaves. Then, they are grilled on a charcoal flame and is best eaten while they are still warm.
