Tandoori Chicken | Indian Grilled Chicken Marinated with Yogurt and Spices

Ingredients for Tandoori Spice
½ cup of yogurt
2 cloves of garlic – pounded finely
1 green chilli
½ inch of ginger – pounded finely
1 tsp of garam masala
1 tbsp of paprika
Other ingredients
¼ of chicken
2 cloves of garlic – chopped
¾ cups of lemon juice
½ tsp of chopped ginger
¼ tbsp of fennel seed powder
½ tsp of chilli powder
½ tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
Directions
1. First, prepare the tandoori spice. Mix all the ingredients to prepare it – chilli, garlic, ginger, yogurt, garam masala, and paprika. Mix for a while and put aside.
2. Next, mix the chicken with fennel seed powder, garlic, ginger, turmeric powder, chilli powder, lemon juice and the tandoori spice prepared in advance.
3. Toss and mix the chicken with all the ingredients. The chicken needs to be marinated overnight before it’s roasted.
4. When it’s marinated nicely, roast the chicken in the oven at 150 – 200 degree Celsius for about 50 minutes.
This Chicken Tandoori is not red in colour as the ones served at restaurants because this recipe does not use colouring. Try it out!
